Daily Reading – Job 25-26

Job’s friend Bildad the Shuhite referring to man as a maggot didn’t have much of a positive answer to provide to Job. In Job 25:4, he says, How then can a man be righteous before God? How can on born of woman be pure?

Good question. And I think the resounded answer for almost everyone is, man can’t be righteous before God without Jesus. (Remember God called Job blameless and upright in Job 1:8. It’s another subject. Obviously there were people named in the old testament who were considered righteous by God. Certainly I don’t qualify and can’t think of anyone else either.)

Job comes back pointing to the majesty of God.
Job 26:7-10, 14
He spreads out the northern skies over empty space; he suspends the earth over nothing. He wraps up the waters in his clouds, yet the clouds do not burst under their weight. He covers the face of the full moon, spreading his clouds over it. He marks out the horizon on the face of the waters for a boundary between light and darkness. 14 And those are but the outer fringe of his works; how faint the whisper we hear of him! Who then can understand the thunder of his power?

We only get a glimpse of His wonders! What incredible wonders await?
