Daily Reading – Job 30

Job 30:15 Terror overwhelm me; my dignity is driven away as by the wind, my safety vanishes like a cloud.

Reminds of the verse a few chapters ago, Job 27:20 with terrors overtaking the wicked. So what is the difference in this life for the wicked or the righteous? They suffer the same fates of this world?

Job 30:20-21 I cry out to you, O God, but you do not answer…You turn on me ruthlessly; with the might of your hand you attack me.

We know the last part is not true. It is not God’s hand striking Job. But is the rest not true? Hasn’t Job been a faithful servant while God pointed him out and left him open for attack?

Job 30:31 My harp is tuned to mourning, and my flute to the sound of wailing. — Come on Job. Pull it together. Easy to say when it’s not you
