Too Much Theology

Vincent van Gogh Ladies of Arles 150x150 Too Much TheologyJohn 6:28-29     Therefore they said to Him, “What shall we do, so that we may work the works of God?” 29 Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent.”

John 9:35-38 Jesus heard that they had put him out, and finding him, He said, “Do you believe in the Son of Man?” 36 He answered, “Who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?” 37 Jesus said to him, “You have both seen Him, and He is the one who is talking with you.” 38 And he said, “Lord, I believe.” And he worshiped Him.

I for one am spending way too much time on trying to get it right, right in thinking. While I am spending way too little time in getting in right in way of doing, walking in the Spirit. Sometimes I hear people say things which are so clearly un-biblical it’s absurd. But they’re doing leagues better in walking in the Spirit. So which is more important? It seems foolish almost. If we are both saved, what difference would it make who gets the theology right, as if we will be able to answer half the questions we have correctly anyway.

Just a bit more, a bit more. There are still some burning questions I’ve got to chew on.

Here’s a message which reinforces the question, why am I spending so much time trying to get the theology right when I’m saved and more time should be going into walking with God?
