Under Judgment

So what has become of the wrathful God we read about in the Old Testament?

Deuteronomy 28:15     However, if you do not obey the Lord your God and do not carefully follow all his commands and decrees I am giving you today, all these curses will come upon you and overtake you.

Deuteronomy 28:32     Your sons and daughters will be given to another nation, and you will wear out your eyes watching for them day after day, powerless to lift a hand.

Whether God did this directly or turned me over to satan, who I was already unknowingly following, that’s exactly what happened to my children. They were handed over to another nation. It’s not fun being under judgment. And I’ve gotten off easy so far. I have no idea how my children are doing. I know where they are headed though. Unless something happens, I just need to read the list of curses and their future comes into view. That’s not pretty.

After over a year and a half, finally there is some hope. Not scheduled yet, but it looks like I may be able to see my kids at the beginning of May. I’m desperately looking forward to seeing them. And they need a better father who is walking with God.

It’s not a well received topic these days. But the wrath of God is real. How couldn’t it be, as our God is just. I didn’t realize this until I was absolutely broken. It wasn’t a pretty sight. But if that’s what it took, it was necessary. And I am absolutely thankful for this incredibly long and painful lesson.

Now I am the righteousness of God in Jesus. I can now read about the blessings as I carry my own cross and follow.
